Basic Knowledge of ROV Connectors — The "Neural Nodes" for Deep-sea Operations

ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) connectors are core components of deep-sea equipment. Designed specifically for high-pressure and highly corrosive marine environments, they ensure the reliable transmission of power, signals and data, serving as the "neural nodes" of ROVs.
I. Core Functions
Power Transmission: Supply electricity to thrusters, light sources, manipulators and other devices. Common voltage specifications include 48V, 24V and 12V, while high-voltage models can withstand up to 7500V.Signal Interaction: Transmit control commands, sensor data such as depth and temperature, as well as high-definition video signals, and support communication protocols including RS-485 and Ethernet.
Mechanical Connection: Equipped with high-strength locking structures to resist deep-sea water flow impact and mechanical vibration, so as to guarantee stable connection.
II. Core Characteristics
Pressure Resistance and Sealing Performance: Capable of withstanding deep-sea pressure at a maximum depth of 3000 meters (approximately 4500PSI). Sealing materials such as fluororubber and silicone rubber are adopted to prevent seawater leakage.Corrosion Resistance: The shells are mostly made of titanium alloy, 316 stainless steel or Glass Reinforced Epoxy (GRE), which are suitable for long-term immersion in seawater.
Wet-mate Capability: Some models support direct underwater mating and unmating. Devices can be replaced without returning to the cabin, greatly improving operational efficiency.
