IP68 is the highest ingress protection rating for solid particles and water immersion, defined by IEC 60529. The "6" indicates complete protection against dust ingress. The "8" indicates protection against continuous submersion in water at pressures specified by the manufacturer.

All RV Power Group connectors are rated IP68 -- they are permanently submersible to their rated depth. Unlike IP67 connectors (which are rated for 1 m for 30 minutes only), our IP68 connectors are qualified for extended submersion at working depth.

Our IP68 testing protocol:

• Full assembly submerged in water at rated depth pressure for 30 minutes minimum
• Post-soak insulation resistance test: >100 MO at 500 VDC
• Contact resistance test: <5 mO per contact
• Visual inspection for seal integrity
