FAQ
Answers to the most common questions about RV Power Group subsea connectors: depth ratings (to 7,000 m), SubConn compatibility, IP68 certification, lead times, custom engineering, and maintenance.
RV Power Group supplies complete pre-terminated cable assemblies: connector + cable, 100% pressure and electrical tested. Standard and custom cable lengths available.
RV Power Group contact current ratings range from 3-5 A (Micro Circular signal) to 100-150 A (High-Power series). Rated for continuous duty in seawater at 20 deg C.
Maintain subsea connectors by inspecting/lubricating O-rings before each dive, rinsing with fresh water after recovery, and replacing O-rings every 12 months or 200 mating cycles.
RV Power Group commercial diving connectors (RMG/RMK, IMCA D 023) are for surface-supply and saturation diving. Micro Circular connectors suit scientific SCUBA instrument interfaces.
Standard RV Power Group connectors operate from -5 deg C to +55 deg C in seawater. Arctic low-temperature and high-temperature (up to +100 deg C) options available on request.
RV Power Group holds ISO 9001:2015, CE, RoHS, IP68 (IEC 60529), and IMCA D 023 certifications. Third-party type approval (DNV, BV) available on request.
To specify a subsea connector: provide depth rating, contact count, signal types, cable OD, temperature range, and intermatability requirement. Email [email protected] for a 24-hour recommendation.
Wet-mate connectors can be mated/unmated underwater. Dry-mate connectors require dry conditions before submersion. RV Power Group standard connectors are wet-mate capable to 7,000 m.
RV Power Group offers full custom underwater connector design: any contact count, shell material, depth rating, cable configuration. Prototype in 2-4 weeks from approved drawings.
RV Power Group standard connectors ship in 5-10 business days. Custom assemblies in 2-4 weeks. Expedited production available on request.
No minimum order quantity (MOQ) for standard RV Power Group underwater connectors. Order 1 unit or 1,000 units. OEM volume pricing available at 50+ units.
RV Power Group connectors use 316L SS shells, gold-plated BeCu contacts, NBR O-rings, and PU overmold as standard. Titanium, Viton, and PEEK options available for harsh-duty environments.
All RV Power Group connectors are IP68 rated per IEC 60529 -- permanently submersible to rated depth. IP68 testing at 1.5x working pressure with insulation resistance and contact resistance verification.
RV Power Group connectors are 100% intermateable with SubConn connectors. Shell dimensions, O-ring grooves, contact layout, and coupling mechanism all match SubConn specifications.
RV Power Group connectors are rated to 7,000 m (700 bar). Depth tiers from 300 m (diving) to 7,000 m (full ocean). All depth ratings hydrostatically tested at 1.5x working pressure.
